Murillos Bros Adventours
The Murillos Bros Adventours tourism company was born in 2021 with the need for a fishermen's cooperative to become environmental conservationists. Since 1940, the head of the Murillo family, Don Rodolfo Murillo, son of Martin (Bitin) Murillo, in addition to being the first keepers of the Cabo Tosco lighthouse in the south of Isla Margarita, also dedicated themselves to commercial fishing on Isla Margarita or Puerto Alcatraz, B.C.S.; and her 5 sons and the husbands of her 3 daughters: Rodolfo, Damián, Joel, Húbert and EfraÃn; Leticia, Claudia and Pilar gradually, starting in 1975, joined this activity. At the end of 1998, with everyone already living in Puerto San Carlos and encouraged by close family and friends, they began the constitution of a Cooperative Society for fishing production. A total of 14 founders joined their efforts to exploit fishing resources in BahÃa Magdalena, in an organized manner. After a few years of establishing the SCPP Marine Producers of Puerto San Carlos, B.C.S., S. de R.L. (Promarinos), had their own fishing permits; first ladybug clam, then shrimp, crab; sea scale, scallop, squid and finally; in 2008, generous clam. But, starting in 2015, when 2 of the new partners: Damián and Alfredo, sons of founding partners; who having prepared themselves at the Center for Technological Studies of the Sea (CETMAR No. 30), in Puerto San Carlos, and who then decided to direct their professional studies towards the Alternative Tourism Career; In an Extension of the Autonomous University of Baja California Sur, in the City of Loreto, the way of thinking of the members of the Promarinos Cooperative began to change; The new partners influenced the majority, with their ideas that Magdalena Bay was a true ecotourism paradise, and that it was well worth suspending fishing activity; to not continue contributing to overexploiting fishing resources, and to better dedicate themselves to tourism and recreational activities; thus helping to care for and preserve the environment of BahÃa Magdalena. The majority of members did not accept this way of thinking, so 6 of the 15 members of the Promarinos Cooperative decided to establish a new organization, dedicated to offering tourist services to national and foreign visitors: Murillos Bros Adventours; company whose 10 partners have committed to caring for and conserving the environment of Magdalena Bay; working hand in hand with other organizations that pursue the same goal, so that the residents settled in the various communities in the bay achieve sustainable development in the medium term. The great natural beauty is indescribable, both inside and outside. of the Magdalena Bay lagoon complex. There are countless magnificent sites, located on beaches, estuaries, dunes, mangroves and islets; as well as in the open sea that surrounds the Santa Magdalena and Santa Margarita Islands, islands that protect Magdalena Bay. Each site has its characteristic flora and fauna, due to the fact that in this region of the planet three different ecosystems are combined: Mangrove forests, dunes and mountains; which provides a perfect environment to house more than 100 species of birds throughout the year. On the other hand, the exotic and spectacular landscapes of BahÃa Magdalena, such as the dunes next to the sea, which adjoin extensive sandy beaches, allow hundreds of sea lions to cohabit. Some sand islets are filled with thousands of birds, which gather to spend the night during their rest hours; after feeding on marine species during the day. Channels in the Bay, where the gray whale, which invariably arrives at the end of December to the coasts of Baja California Sur; having traveled for almost 3 months, on its annual migration, from areas near the north pole of the earth; and that enters, to reproduce, in the warm waters of BahÃa Magdalena; in which some females give birth to their young and then nurse them, before beginning to return to their natural feeding sites, from where they initially left. Very attractive places in the open sea, for sport fishing and snorkeling, closely observing the frenzy with which the striped marlin feeds, with schools of mackerel or Monterrey sardines or squid; Furthermore, during the voyages to these sites, it is possible to observe various species of sharks, manta rays, turtles, fish, whales and birds.
